Exeter Railway Station is a station on the Main South railway line in New South Wales, Australia and serves the small Southern Highlands village of Exeter. Trains of the Southern Highlands line of the CityRail network serve the station. The station opened in 1878 as Badgery's Siding, but was renamed to Exeter, after the name of a local farm, on 12 August 1890.[1] The station has two platforms that serve the diesel railcars that use the line. The up (Sydney-bound) platform is of a dual height, allowing different era trains to use the station if required, without a large gap between the platform and the train.
The platforms are not connected, and passengers are required to cross the tracks on a specialist foot crossing at the northern end of the station to reach the opposite platform. Since both platforms are level, there is effectively Easy Access to the station.
